Adventure Hikers Brace the Cold of Texas (con't)
Through the support of the North Texas Orienteering Association, Trinity River Corridor Project, Sports Authority, and the Troy Aikman Foundation, a drawing was held and gifts were provided. Twenty lucky participants received items such as dining certificates and Sports Authority Folding Camp Chairs, an iPod® Shuffle and an autographed photo of Super Bowl winning former Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Troy Aikman.
Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge
This year’s 5th Annual Trinity River Levee Run changed course and runners participating in the race on March 7, 2009, ran from Trammel Crow Park to Canada Drive and then across the Continental Bridge, thereby getting a close view of the construction taking place from the west to the east side of the levees at the site of the new Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge.
Progress is moving along at a rapid pace for the construction of the bridge. The anticipation is building toward the arrival of steel from Italy; it is arriving from over 5,000 miles away. Current estimates gauge it reaching Texas waters by April. Once the steel docks in Houston, it will continue its journey to Dallas.
Watch our progress!
